Antonio Gennaro was born in Messina in 1971. He began studying piano at the age of seven with Prof. S. Pahor and later graduated with top honors and distinction under the guidance of Maestro R. Motta from the A. Corelli Conservatory in Messina.
Winner of several national competitions in Taranto, Ruvo di Puglia, and Modica, he has had a long career as a concert pianist, both as a soloist and as an accompanist in numerous vocal and instrumental performances.
In 1996, he qualified for the Italian Youth Orchestra in Fiesole. He was the piano accompanist in a rare Italian performance by Steven Mead, one of the world’s greatest euphonium soloists. In 2002, he worked as a répétiteur for the musical Salvatore Giuliano by Maestro Dino Scuderi, starring singer Tosca and actor G. Ingrassia.
In 2010 and 2011, he was engaged as a piano accompanist for orchestral auditions at the Teatro Massimo of Palermo. In 2012, he conducted Cavalleria Rusticana (P. Mascagni) and Acqua Cheta (G. Pietri) at the ABC Theater in Catania, as well as Acqua Cheta at the Municipal Theater of Sortino (SR) and Die Csárdásfürstin (E. Kálmán) at the F. Zappalà Theater in Palermo.
At the end of May 2013, he was engaged at the Teatro Massimo of Palermo as an orchestral pianist for a symphonic concert conducted by Maestro George Pehlivanian.
He has collaborated on several vocal masterclasses with Maestri Walter Alberti and Carmen Gonzales, as well as clarinet masterclasses with Maestro Calogero Palermo.
Additionally, he has been the official piano accompanist for all woodwind classes at the Conservatory of Messina for over 20 years.
Currently, he serves as répétiteur, pianist, and assistant conductor at the F. Zappalà Theater in Palermo, as well as a collaborative pianist for the Italian Opera Live Cultural Association.
