Antonio Cardone was born in Messina in 1971.
He pursued his piano studies under the expert guidance of Maestro Riccardo Motta, graduating with top honors from the A. Corelli Conservatory of Music in Messina in 1999. He has participated in numerous national piano competitions, often ranking among the prize winners. In particular, in 1998, he was awarded the prize for Best Performer of Schumann at the Messina festival dedicated to the German composer, performing Fantasia Op. 17. The following year, at the same event, he was recognized as the Best Interpreter of a Classical Composition (Sonata Op. 101 by Beethoven) and as the Overall Best Performer. Also in 1999, he won third prize at the Placido Mandanici National Piano Performance Competition in Barcellona P.G.
He has performed as a solo pianist and in chamber ensembles for numerous musical associations, as well as serving as a choir director. He was also invited by a major satellite broadcaster in Rome to play in a series of television programs.
In addition to his musical studies, he earned a degree in Modern Literature with top honors and distinction in 2001 from the University of Messina, presenting an outstanding thesis titled Ad Deum per musicam. Historical-Cultural Perspective on Saint Augustine’s De Musica. In 2005, he obtained his teaching qualification from the School of Specialization in Secondary Education (SISSIS) at the same university, and in 2006, he specialized in special education teaching.
Alongside his teaching career in Italian and Latin at high schools, he maintains a regular and intense musical activity as an educator and collaborative pianist on both piano and organ.
